Electricity consumption in Ukraine is growing due to the heat wave. The country is bringing in emergency aid from Slovakia, and the weather has cut off power to 63 settlements in Lviv and Zakarpattia regions.

Electricity consumption continues to grow due to the heat wave, Ukraine will receive emergency aid from Slovakia today, and imports from 4 neighboring countries are planned. The bad weather cut off power to 63 settlements in Lviv and Zakarpattia regions. No consumption restrictions are expected today, but electricity should be consumed sparingly throughout the day, NPC Ukrenergo said on Thursday, UNN reports.

Consumption

Consumption continues to grow, as indicated. On Thursday, August 22, as of 9:30 a.m., it was 1.8% higher than the previous day. This is due to the persistence of hot weather in most regions, the NPC noted.

Yesterday, August 21, the maximum consumption was reportedly 1.4% higher than on the previous business day, Tuesday, August 20.

"No consumption restrictions are expected today. Consume electricity sparingly throughout the day, and especially between 16:00 and 22:00. Please do not turn on several powerful electrical appliances at the same time," Ukrenergo said.

Emergency assistance

Today, on August 22, at the request of NPC Ukrenergo, Ukraine will attract emergency assistance from the Slovak power system.

Import and export

Imports - throughout the day from Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova. The total volume is 19,660 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 1,333 MW in some hours. Exports are not carried out and are not planned.

Power outages

Due to the hostilities and other reasons, 527 settlements are completely or partially de-energized.

As of this morning, 63 settlements in Lviv and Zakarpattia regions remain without power as a result of the weather. Work is underway to repair damaged power lines.

Due to the hostilities, there are power outages in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.

Due to technical reasons, consumers in Sumy and Odesa regions lost power.
