The head of the Edinburgh City Council has resigned after police launched an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior against refugees from Ukraine. This is reported by the BBC, reports UNN.

It is noted that Cam Day, who is a member of the Labour Party, in his own statement confirmed his decision to resign from the post of chairman of the council.

Day said he had not yet been contacted by the police, but assured that he would fully cooperate with them in the investigation.
It is also reported that the Labour Party suspended Day from his duties until the investigation is completed.
Scottish Police said they are considering a complaint of inappropriate behavior filed back on October 22.

One of the Women Day contacted told BBC Scotland News that he sent messages on social media.
