Court keeps AFU chief psychiatrist in custody with bail set at 24 million UAH. He is suspected of laundering over 34.5 million UAH obtained through criminal means.

The Kyiv Court of Appeal has upheld the preventive measure for the Chief Psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who is suspected of laundering over 34.5 million UAH, allegedly obtained through criminal means. The official will remain in custody with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 24 million UAH. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to UNN.
The Kyiv Court of Appeal supported the position of the prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General and denied the defense's request to reduce the bail for the Chief Psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who is suspected of laundering property obtained through criminal means on an especially large scale under Part 3 of Art. 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,
He will remain in custody with the alternative of posting 24 million UAH in bail. This was the preventive measure previously determined by the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv, and the appeal left this decision unchanged.
The defense requested a reduction in the bail amount. Prosecutors objected and emphasized that the amount is justified given the severity of the alleged crime, the volume of assets under investigation, and the risks established in the criminal proceedings.
The court agreed with the arguments of the prosecution.
