Changes in the rules of deferral for students and teachers: the Cabinet approved the draft law

The Cabinet approved changes to the rules of deferral for students and teachers. Men 25+ who are studying for the second time at the same or lower level of education will not receive a deferral.

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a bill that provides for changes in the rules for granting deferrals for students and teachers. This was announced by the government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, in Telegram, reports UNN.

According to Melnychuk, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft law "On Amendments to Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine "On Mobilization Training and Mobilization" regarding the rights of pedagogical workers and educators".
The document stipulates that the following are not subject to military service during mobilization, among other things: students of vocational education institutions and students of professional higher education who started their studies before the age of 25, and who study in full-time or dual form of education.
It is also proposed to establish that doctoral students and doctors (pharmacists) - interns, doctors - residents are not subject to conscription (these provisions apply to students in educational institutions (scientific institutions) of Ukraine who are receiving education for the first time.
Teachers with a scientific degree (even if they no longer have the status of a scientific and pedagogical worker) will receive a deferral. Deferral will also be for after-school teachers who run circles (ecological-naturalistic, technical, military-patriotic) - if they worked before January 1, 2025 and at their main place of work.
However, men aged 25+ who are studying for the second time at the same or lower level of education will not be able to obtain a deferral, and studying abroad after February 24, 2022 does not give the right to a deferral.
