The Cabinet of Ministers has agreed to transfer three seized diesel locomotives belonging to the state association "Belarusian Railway" to the management of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia". The locomotives will be used for the needs of the Ukrainian railway infrastructure until the completion of procedural actions in criminal proceedings. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy, reports UNN.

Details

As noted by the ministry, the decision was made in accordance with Article 21¹ of the Law of Ukraine on ARMA, which provides for the specifics of managing seized assets in exceptional cases.

Seized assets should not sit idle if they can work for the benefit of Ukraine. The transfer of three Belarusian diesel locomotives to the management of Ukrzaliznytsia will allow these assets to be involved in the work of the Ukrainian railway infrastructure while maintaining all procedural restrictions related to criminal proceedings

- said Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Vitaliy Petruk.

The Ministry of Economy emphasized that the locomotives are being transferred specifically for management, not ownership, to Ukrzaliznytsia.

These are diesel locomotives of the series 2TE10UK No. 0275, 2TE10U No. 0083, and 2TE10UK No. 0227, which belong to the state association "Belarusian Railway".

The ministry also recalled that the seizure of these assets was imposed by a ruling of the investigating judge of the Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv dated July 14, 2022, in case No. 752/7998/22.
