Ukrzaliznytsia has launched its first container train carrying trucks to Poland, running from Sknyliv to Slavkov, but is working to resolve issues to speed up the Polish border crossing. The train, which took two weeks to prepare, has 23 platforms with 13 tractors and semi-trailers, and similar services are planned in the opposite direction.

Ukrzaliznytsia has sent the first container train with trucks across the border with Poland. This was reported by the company's press service, according to UNN.

Details

The company worked on the project for two weeks. The train consists of 23 platforms, on which 13 tractors with semi-trailers were loaded.

The agency said that the train runs on the route Sknyliv (Ukraine) - Slavkuv (Poland).

Customs and border clearance of the cargo takes place at the Izov-Hrubeshiv railroad border crossing.

Currently, there are still formal issues regarding the fast crossing of the Polish border, and experts are already working to speed up the process.

Ukrzaliznytsia also showed what trains loaded with trucks look like.

Supplement

Similar trips will be organized in the opposite direction. From the Slavko station, the trucks will go to their destination by road.

Ukrzaliznytsia emphasized that the transfer of truck drivers from the point of loading to the railroad platform to the point of unloading is provided by bus.

To order the transportation of a truck by a container train from Ukraine, you need to contact the Liski Transport Service Center branch of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC, in the opposite direction - to UZ Cargo Poland.

As a reminder

The strike of Polish carriers at the border has been going on since November 6. They restricted the movement of freight transport across the Ukrainian-Polish border by blocking the largest checkpoints, including Korczowa-Krakowiec, Hrebenne-Rava Ruska, Dorohusk-Yagodyn, and later the checkpoints Medyka-Shehyni and Krakowiec-Korczowa were blocked.
