The United Kingdom has conducted the first tests of new long-range strike systems, which could potentially be transferred to Ukraine. The test launches took place at a range on the Hebrides Islands, with further tests planned for the coming months, UNN reports, citing The Telegraph.

According to the publication, the new weapon is capable of striking targets at a distance of over 300 miles (approximately 480 kilometers). The experimental systems are equipped with a warhead weighing 250 kilograms.
The project is being implemented under the British Brakestop program, which aims to create relatively inexpensive long-range weapons for Ukraine. The cost of one missile is estimated at approximately £400,000.
Three British companies have reached the final stage
Dozens of developers participated in the competition, but three companies reached the final stage — MBDA UK, MGI Engineering, and Rotron Aerospace. During the tests in the Hebrides, all presented systems successfully completed their tasks, although some technical shortcomings were recorded that the developers must address.
The second phase of the program has now begun. The companies have received additional funding for further refinement of the prototypes and preparation for new tests.
The British government expects that the first serial samples of the new weapon could be delivered to Ukraine within a year. They are expected to complement existing long-range strike capabilities, including Storm Shadow missiles.
