Ukrainian border guards detained eight men, including the organizer, while trying to illegally cross the border with Slovakia. All the detainees are Ukrainian citizens from different regions.

Border guards of the Chop detachment detained a group of men who were trying to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Slovak border, the State Border Guard Service reported, UNN reported.

Border guards of the Chop detachment detained 8 men, including the organizer of the smuggling scheme. The men were detained near the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
The offenders were stopped thanks to advance information from the detachment's operatives. Border guards of the Novoselytsia department were informed that a group of men of military age might attempt to illegally cross the border near the village of Huta in Uzhhorod district
Law enforcement officers managed to detect the offenders in a wooded area near the border. All detainees are citizens of Ukraine. Seven of them were carrying identification documents. The men were residents of the city of Kyiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovs'k, Kirovohrad, Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions. The eighth did not have any documents and called himself a Transcarpathian.
It was he who was involved in the transportation of the other seven people across the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
The detainees were taken to the border guard unit to clarify the circumstances of the offense. They will be brought to administrative responsibility for attempting to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine.
