The Crimean prosecutor's office has charged the so-called head of the "Election Commission of the Republic of Crimea" with facilitating the illegal referendum and aiding the aggressor state. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

Prosecutors served a notice of suspicion to the head of the "Election Commission of the Republic of Crimea" who facilitated the illegal referendum in Crimea in August 2022.
The man coordinated the formation and functioning of hostile "territorial commissions", as well as opened and organized the work of occupation "polling stations" and provided technological equipment.
With the active assistance of the suspect, the above-mentioned "polling stations" were opened and organized in six cities of the occupied Crimea. In particular, in Sevastopol, Simferopol, Kerch, Dzhankoy, Yevpatoria and Yalta.
The prosecutor's office reminds that after the occupation of the peninsula in 2014, the suspect took the position of the occupation head of the so-called "Election Commission of the Republic of Crimea."
His actions are classified as aiding and abetting collaboration, which entails up to 10 years in prison.
