A gas-air mixture explosion occurs at Rosneft's largest gas field in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. One person died and seven were injured. The fire is localized and there is no threat to the public.
An explosion has occurred at Rosneft's largest gas field in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, killing one person and injuring seven. This was reported by Rostekhnadzor, UNN reports.

An explosion of a gas-air mixture with subsequent combustion occurred at the gas and condensate treatment facility of Rospan International's East Urengoy license area in the Purivsky district of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug in preparation for repair work on technological equipment
Russian law enforcement officials say that the victims include two employees of the company and six employees of a contractor, one of whom died.
It is preliminarily reported that the fire at the East Urengoy license area has been localized. Russia also assures that "there is no threat to the population and the environment, environmental monitoring has been organized at the site"

"Rospan is one of Rosneft's leading gas projects. It unites several fields with reserves of about 975 billion cubic meters of gas, more than 150 million gas condensate and over 40 million tons of oil.
The subsidiary of Rosneft is also one of the largest producers of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Russia. The bulk of LPG shipments from Rospan are made by rail. Last year, rail shipments of LPG from the company reached almost 888 thousand tons, which is 386 thousand tons more than in 2022.
