The police found that a local resident, who was vacationing with a friend in a cafe, started harassing other visitors and provoked a quarrel with them. "When a fight broke out between the parties, the offender drove home in his car and returned with a gun. The suspect hit one man in the head with the butt of the gun, and injured two more men's legs, firing several times," the police said.
The victims, aged 32, 45 and 64, were reportedly treated at the hospital and released for outpatient treatment.
"The attacker fled the crime scene in a car. The police tracked him down in hot pursuit near his place of residence. Investigators seized the vehicle from the offender and a smooth-bore shotgun and two spent shell casings from the crime scene, which will be sent for examination," the police said.
The suspect was served a notice of suspicion of hooliganism committed with firearms. The suspect was detained, the issue of choosing a measure of restraint is being decided. He faces up to seven years in prison.
The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Southern Region.
