The President of Ukraine has instructed the government to approve the National Strategy for Veterans' Policy and the Strategy for Transition from Military Service to Civilian Life. The goal is to integrate veterans into public life and support them.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has instructed the government to approve the National Strategy of Veterans' Policy and the Strategy for the Formation of a System of Transition from Military Service to Civilian Life, which will reflect all areas of interaction between the state and veterans. Zelensky said this during a speech at the VII International Veterans Forum, UNN reports.
"It is necessary for the state, for all our people, for our development, for the veteran community in Ukraine to be fully integrated into public life, so that veterans who see themselves as leaders of these changes can really become one of the most reliable sources of strength for Ukraine after the war. It is with this goal in mind that a state policy, the Ukrainian veteran policy, should be organized. The key meaning of such a policy is heroes. It is respect for the defenders of Ukraine, their protection, real support, effective support, without bureaucracy and equally with respect, with the opportunity to further realize themselves for the sake of Ukraine and Ukrainians, for their own development, for the sake of their families, their community. I really hope that this is how all the structures of our government, both the Ministry and the government as a whole, and local authorities in regions, cities and communities will understand their tasks in veterans' affairs. To ensure this, today, by my decree, I instructed the government to approve the National Strategy of Veterans' Policy and the Strategy for the Formation of a System for the Transition from Military Service to Civilian Life," Zelensky said.
He noted that these documents reflect all areas of interaction between the state and the veteran.
"From the initial steps in returning a soldier to civilian life to the veteran's ability to strengthen the life of the community, region, and state," Zelensky added.
