President Zelenskyy commented on Trump's plan to end the war quickly in 24 hours. According to the president, a quick end would mean losses for Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has commented on Donald Trump's plan to end the war, noting that a quick end to the war means losses for Ukraine. Zelensky said this during a press conference following his participation in the summit of the European Political Community, UNN reports.
First of all, we did have good conversations with President Trump, a good meeting. After that, we had a conversation. But they (conversations - ed.) should be more substantive and both sides should prepare for this. As for a quick end to the war, I believe that President Trump really wants a quick solution. Wanting doesn't mean that it will work. And I'm not making any accusations here. I'm just saying that we are where we are. We are at war with the Russians, and it is a fact that this is the most difficult enemy of this century. (...) We need to prepare for any solution
He emphasized that Ukraine wants a just end to the war.
I am sure that a quick end to the war is a loss. I think that if it's very quick, I don't know this idea, we haven't talked about it with President Trump, I think he will be preparing with his team for certain proposals or views. I think all of this is ahead. All that is clear to me now is that he really wants an end. We want a just ending, because it's a horror and a tragedy, this whole war. But if it's just quick, it's a loss for Ukraine
