An accident involving a BMW, a truck and a minibus killed 7 people and injured 3 others. The drunk driver of the BMW, who caused the accident by driving into the oncoming lane, fled the scene but was detained.
A drunk driver of a BMW was responsible for a fatal car accident in Lviv region that killed 7 people. After the accident, he abandoned the car and the victims and fled. According to First Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department Oleksiy Biloshitsky, the fugitive has already been detained, reports UNN.
"He took 7 lives, injured 3 and fled... In the morning, an accident involving a truck, a minibus and a BMW occurred in Lviv region. The driver of the car fled the scene, leaving his car and the victims behind," Biloshytsky said.
The law enforcement officer also disclosed the preliminary causes of the accident and described the "role" of the driver of the BMW.
"Previously, while intoxicated, he drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a truck. The truck became uncontrollable and drove into the minibus. As a result, 7 people died. Three people were hospitalized," Biloshytsky said.
According to him, the BMW driver has already been detained, and the pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
