The Kyiv Prosecutor's Office tried to stop the operation of the Dnipro River Ride back in 2021. Courts and officials disagreed that the cable car was a high-risk attraction.
Back in 2021, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office tried to stop the operation of the Dnipro River descent attraction in Kyiv, where the rope broke today, but the courts and the defendants, represented by Kyiv officials, disagreed with the prosecutor's position that the cable car belongs to high-risk attractions. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, UNN reported.
Under the procedural supervision of the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, criminal proceedings were initiated over the collapse of the attraction "Ropeway across the Dnipro River from the Arch of Friendship of Peoples to Trukhaniv Island" while a man was on it
It is reported that the investigation is being conducted on the fact of violation of safety rules during the performance of work with increased danger and official negligence, which caused the death of a person (part 2 of article 272, part 3 of article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Please note that the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office tried to stop the operation of this attraction back in 2021. The prosecutors filed a lawsuit with the Kyiv Commercial Court, asking to declare illegal and cancel the order of the Executive Body of the Kyiv City Council (KCSA) of January 11, 2021, which recognized the winner of the investment tender as a company with no experience in implementing similar projects and no experience in operating attractions of this type, given their potential danger to life and health
It is noted that the defendants in the case were the Executive Body of the Kyiv City Council (KCSA), PLESO and the winning LLC.
However, the decision of the Kyiv Commercial Court of December 2, 2021, upheld by the decision of the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal of June 16, 2022 and the Supreme Court of September 14, 2022, dismissed the claim. The courts and the defendants, represented by Kyiv officials, disagreed with the prosecutor's position that the cable car across the Dnipro belongs to high-risk attractions
