Russian troops today repeated a massive attack on Ukraine, as they did on December 29. At night, 35 out of 35 Shaheds were destroyed, and later - 10 out of 10 Kinzhal missiles, 59 out of 70 cruise missiles and 3 out of three Kalibr missiles. According to preliminary results, the enemy used 99 missiles of various types. This was reported on Tuesday by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny, UNN reports.

On the night of January 2, 2024, the enemy repeated a massive attack with various types of air attack, as it was a few days ago - on December 29, 2023. (...) The forces and means of the Air Force, in cooperation with the units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, destroyed 72 air targets: 10 out of 10 X-47M2 "Kinzhal" aerial ballistic missiles; 59 out of 70 X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles; 3 out of 3 "Kalibr" cruise missiles

Zaluzhny said that the enemy "attacked civilian and critical infrastructure, industrial and military facilities." The main focus of the attack is the capital of Ukraine.

According to him, the first wave of attacks came from the southeast, with "shaheds" moving to different regions of Ukraine.

All 35 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs were destroyed by air defense, as reported earlier.

"In the morning, the enemy used strategic aviation - Tu-95MS bombers. 16 aircraft reached the launch line around 6:00 and launched at least 70 X-101/X-555/X-55 air-launched cruise missiles. Starting at 07.30, ten X-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles were launched from MiG-31K fighters. The enemy also attacked from the sea with three winged caliber missiles, and from the north-12 rockets flying on the ballistic trajectory of the Iskander-M/C-300/C-400. Four X-31P anti-radar missiles were used from Su-35 tactical aircraft," Zaluzhnyi noted.
