22.5 thousand individual entrepreneurs closed after signing the law on new taxes
Kyiv • UNN
Following the signing of the law on tax increases, there has been a massive closure of individual entrepreneurs in Ukraine. More than 1,000 entrepreneurs are closing down every day, which is significantly higher than the usual figure of 700 closures.
22,500 individual entrepreneurs have ceased operations since the President signed the law on tax increases. In the first days, the number of closures reached more than 1,000 daily. This is reported inNN with reference to Opendatabot.
Details
On the day the law was signed, November 29, 2,332 fops decided to close. Overall, on average, the number of closures reached more than 1,000 per day after the law came into effect. By comparison, about 700 entrepreneurs usually close down per day.
A total of 254,288 fops have ceased operations since the beginning of 2024. Most closures occurred in March - 28,690, but there were also spikes in activity at the end of the reporting periods. Opendatabot explains this by the desire of entrepreneurs to avoid unnecessary tax liabilities and simplify accounting.
The adoption of the tax increase law reportedly played a significant role in the surge in the closure of fops in the fall. A number of entrepreneurs consider the new taxes to be unfair, while officials emphasize the low rates compared to the EU.
Recall
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed Law No. 11416-d on a “historic” tax increase. The document envisages, among other things, an increase in the military tax on personal income (wages, dividends, additional benefits, etc.) from 1.5% to 5%.
