About 650,000 people have left Russia since the beginning of 2022, with Armenia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Israel, the United States, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Serbia being the main destinations.

Based on data from migration and statistical authorities of almost 70 countries, it was revealed that about 650 thousand people have left Russia since the beginning of 2022. This is 150 thousand more than the rough estimates made by researchers in 2022.
Among the leading countries in terms of the number of Russians who moved there were expectedly visa-free destinations for Russia, in particular:
Armenia - about 110 thousand people moved to this country;
Kazakhstan (80 thousand);
Georgia (74 thousand).
In addition, the top in popularity was Israel, where about 80 thousand Russians repatriated.
In the United States, taking into account the received "long-term visas" moved 48 thousand Russians.
Of the EU countries, according to statistics, the leader in the number of arriving Russian citizens is Germany: 36 thousand Russians since the beginning of 2022.
Spain (16,000);
Netherlands (12,000).
Among other representatives of the European continent, Serbia remains popular: about 30 thousand Russians have moved since the beginning of 2022.
A notable fact: Turkey, which used to be a popular destination for emigration, has recently recorded a significant outflow of Russians.
This is explained by the fact that those arriving from the Russian Federation do not extend their residence permit. However, life in Turkey is linked to the economic crisis, so it may be more expensive to stay there.

Not all countries popular with new emigrants provided data. For example, the authorities of Thailand, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, and Greece did not respond to The Bell's requests.
Migration and statistical authorities of Cyprus do not keep records of Russian citizens who have moved to the island, according to the response to journalists of the publication.
Not all countries have published data for 2023 (e.g. Portugal).
