Relations between Kyiv and Washington are improving after a tense meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office. This was stated by the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak in an interview with Reuters, writes UNN.

Yermak said that two rounds of talks on a potential ceasefire in Saudi Arabia gave Kyiv an opportunity to demonstrate to the American authorities that Ukraine is open to cooperating with Trump in his desire to end the three-year war between Russia and Ukraine.
Yermak said that this differs from the Russian approach to negotiations, which, according to him, involves putting forward conditions for a peace agreement.

Describing the negotiations in Saudi Arabia, where American officials tried to reach agreements with delegations from Russia and Ukraine, Yermak said: "We have demonstrated that we are very serious, the Americans understood this."
"Dear American friends, you understand that we are partners. That was our goal," Yermak noted.
At the same time, he stated: "Russia is just playing games."
