The UN monitoring mission in Ukraine believes that the attack on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv was caused by a Russian missile. However, they cannot make a final conclusion. Analysis of the video footage and the assessment made at the scene of the incident indicate that it is highly likely that the children's hospital was hit directly, rather than damaged by the interception of the weapon system
She added that her team in Ukraine, which visited the site of the June 8 tragedy, could not reach a final conclusion, but believed that the missile was probably launched by Russia.
According to her, the situation requires further investigation.

In Russia, the massive missile strike on Ukraine on July 8 was called Moscow's response to Ukraine's attacks on Russian energy facilities. The Russian Defense Ministry denied claims that civilian objects were hit, including the Okhmatdyt hospital in Kyiv.
Subsequently , the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Kremlin claimed that a Ukrainian air defense missile had hit Okhmatdet.
