Not all countries are interested in the return of Ukrainians home, as Ukrainian citizens have already become an important part of the economies of the states where they have been staying since the start of the full-scale war. Because of this, Ukraine will likely "have to fight" for the return of its people. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, during a speech in the Verkhovna Rada, reports UNN.

During his speech, Andrii Sybiha emphasized that there are currently 8 million Ukrainians abroad.
"According to our data, it is not even six, but eight million Ukrainians who are forced to stay abroad. For us, this is truly becoming a security challenge. We state directly that necessary measures will be taken and necessary steps developed to stimulate or create proper conditions for the return of Ukrainians home. This is the main strategic goal. Certainly, security conditions in the Motherland must be created first and foremost for this," Andrii Sybiha reported.
In addition, the Minister emphasized that the issue of returning Ukrainian citizens is already being discussed with international partners; however, some states are not interested in the departure of Ukrainians due to their contribution to the local economy and labor market.
"We are discussing these issues with our partners. We also see that not all countries are interested in the return of Ukrainians, given our citizens' contribution to the development of economies, their qualifications, and adaptation in these countries. Therefore, in fact, we will still need to 'fight' for our people so that they return," Sybiha said.
