Starting from June 5, the updated rules of duty-free and quota-free trade in agricultural products with the EU will start working, which will be valid for a year. This applies to eggs, poultry meat, corn, cereals, honey and sugar, for which the quota of 262 thousand tons has already been exhausted. This was stated by Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and food Taras Vysotsky during a speech at the GRAIN Ukraine conference, quoted by The Ministry of Agrarian Policy, reports UNN.

According to Vysotsky, starting from June 5, the updated rules of duty-free and quota-free trade in agricultural products with the EU will start working, which will be valid for a year. Quotas are set for some agricultural products based on the average yield for the second half of 2021 and 2022-2023.
This applies to six types of products: sugar, eggs, poultry, corn, cereals, and honey. The quota for sugar exports to the EU at the level of 262 thousand tons has already been exhausted. Since June 1, the government has introduced a zero quota for sugar, which will be valid until the end of the year. But Ukrainian agricultural producers continue to export sugar to Africa, the Middle East, and the United Kingdom
He stressed that the EU is Ukraine's largest trading partner. In 2023, about 60% of agricultural products were exported to EU countries.
The new legislative changes provide for the establishment of minimum prices for the export of cereals and oilseeds, nuts and honey. The gift will also launch a traceability system for manufactured products. The Ministry of agricultural policy is developing an algorithm for implementing changes that will be published for public discussion"
