The Ministry of foreign affairs of Ukraine expresses solidarity with Romania against the background of an unprecedented hybrid attack by Russia against Romanian democracy, as evidenced by data declassified this week by the Romanian authorities. This was announced in an official comment by the Ministry of foreign affairs of Ukraine, reports UNN.
Russia's brazen interference in Romania's internal affairs is an attempt to deprive the Romanian people of the constitutional right to freely express their will. This is another episode of Russia's broader hybrid aggression against Europe and the rest of the free world, which has recently manifested itself in active Russian efforts to undermine the situation in Georgia, Moldova and a number of other countries
Also, the foreign ministry noted that Russian interference in the elections in Romania confirmed the previous statements of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry about the Kremlin's aggressive plans, which go far beyond the borders of Ukraine and extend, in particular, to the EU and NATO countries. They also stressed Ukraine's maximum support in countering Russian aggression in order to preserve stability in Europe and the world.
"Romania is an important neighbor and reliable partner of our state. A country that firmly supports Ukraine's fight against Russian aggression and provides significant support. Our solidarity with the Romanian people remains unwavering. We sincerely hope that in the course of the further electoral process, Romanian citizens will be able to exercise their right to vote without foreign interference," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stressed.
