Two X-59 missiles and 4 Shaheeds shot down in the sky over Ukraine at night

On the night of August 8, 2024, Russia attacked Ukraine with four missiles and four Shahed drones. The defense forces successfully shot down 2 X-59 guided missiles and 4 Shahed drones in Odesa, Kherson and Kirovohrad regions. This was reported by the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, UNN reports. 

According to Oleshchuk, on the night of August 8, 2024, the enemy fired 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles at Kharkiv region from Belgorod region (Russia), 2 X-59 guided missiles from the airspace over the Azov Sea and 4 Shahed attack UAVs from the direction of Yeysk (Russia).

As a result of an anti-aircraft battle, mobile firing groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, anti-aircraft missile troops and airborne electronic warfare units shot down two X-59 guided missiles and 4 attack UAVs in Odesa, Kherson and Kirovohrad regions
