The United States and 21 other countries have called on Iran to immediately cease attacks on individuals abroad. In a joint statement, they condemned Iranian intelligence services for the "shameful" use of criminal groups to conduct operations in Europe, North America, and Australia. According to them, the intelligence services of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its external operations unit, the Quds Force, have been involved in "deadly plots and malicious activities" against Iranian dissidents, journalists, as well as Jewish and Israeli communities and related interests.
"We are united in our determination to protect our countries and our citizens from these threats. The Islamic Republic of Iran must immediately cease these actions."
The countries also accused Iran of involvement in a campaign of attacks across Europe targeting Jewish communities, Iranian journalists, and American journalists. Responsibility for these attacks was claimed by the group Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya (HAYI), which is linked to Iran.

The group's name translates as the "Islamic Movement of the People of the Right Hand." It has claimed responsibility for attacks on Jewish communities in the United Kingdom, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
According to reports, HAYI claimed to be behind a knife attack on two Jewish men and a series of arsons at synagogues and community facilities in North London in recent months.

Last August, Australia expelled Iran's ambassador, accusing Tehran of coordinating at least two anti-Semitic attacks: the arson of a synagogue in Melbourne and a kosher cafe in Sydney.
Canberra also recalled Australia's ambassador from Iran and suspended the operations of its embassy in Tehran.
In November, Australia designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a state sponsor of terrorism, calling the alleged attacks in Australia "unprecedented and dangerous acts of aggression organized by a foreign state on Australian territory."
Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated at the time that Australia's decision was an "insulting and groundless step" that violates international rules and norms.
