He said that "we need to believe in peace and we need to bring peace to this region of the world," Voice of America reports, according to UNN.

Vance also emphasized, citing unnamed reports, that "Ukrainians lack a military that can fight," and repeated Donald Trump's thesis that Russia would never have invaded Ukraine if he had been president.
"And if you want to bring peace to this region, you need a negotiator whom Vladimir Putin respects. Is there someone like that here? Obviously, we are among the biased audience here, but does anyone here think that Vladimir Putin respects Kamala Harris? She is afraid of all of you. And she certainly won't be able to sit in an audience with Vladimir Putin and promote an acceptable peace," Vance said.
The Republican vice presidential candidate also outlined his vision of US foreign policy, according to which the head of state should be a person who "understands diplomacy, who understands that America has leverage to cut off energy in some places or cut off access to energy where there are bad guys in charge of energy policy.
