During the attack on May 24, the enemy attempted to overwhelm the air defense with a massive volume of missiles and drones. Over 40% of the Shaheds were shot down by interceptors of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

During the attack on the night of May 24, Russian troops relied on mass scale rather than effectiveness. This was reported on Telegram by Serhii (Flash) Beskrestnov, advisor to the Minister of Defense, according to UNN.

According to Beskrestnov, "the bulk of the damage was again caused by missiles. Unfortunately, there were too many missiles for our air defense resources."

Regarding the "Shaheds," he noted that the Defense Forces demonstrated better performance than the average for the past six months.

This time, the share of interceptors already accounted for over 40% of all downed Shaheds. The positive dynamics in the work of the Ministry of Defense and the Defense Forces of Ukraine over the last 4 months is evident

- Beskrestnov noted.

According to him, this time, as with the previous one, the "Shaheds" used mass attack tactics, flying along the same routes in an attempt to overwhelm the air defenses.

A small number of jet-powered "Shaheds" attempted to attack Kyiv from the north, with both "Geran-3" and "Geran-4" being deployed. There were few controlled "Shaheds"; in this attack, the enemy relied on mass scale rather than effectiveness. No attempts to control "Shaheds" from Belarus were recorded this time. It is too early to draw conclusions. Perhaps because the entire strike was directed at Kyiv, rather than the western part of Ukraine as it was last time

- Flash suggests.

In his opinion, the targets in Kyiv were chosen by the adversary merely as a pretext for striking the city.

"For example, the plant in Lukyanivka, where everything possible has long since been destroyed by missiles over the years of the war, or the territory of the Ground Forces Command, where no one has been since the first day of the war, as is the case with all similar facilities in Kyiv. I saw nothing technologically or tactically new for myself in this attack," the advisor to the Minister of Defense added.
