Recently, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine received several new Metal Shark boats from the United States. This was reported by UNN with reference to the SBGS.
Details
Border guards explained that boats were transferred to the border agency from the US government as part of a joint project with the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) and with the active support of the Export Control and Border Security Program (EXBS).
The boats are equipped with modern navigation, control, automatic fire extinguishing, and video surveillance systems. According to the sea border guards, these boats are very fast, extremely maneuverable, comfortable and ergonomic.
The American boats have already become reliable partners of border guards at sea and on rivers and are involved in the protection and defense of Ukraine's state border, coverage of the surface situation, etc. In particular, these boats are also involved in ensuring the security component of the maritime corridor in the Black Sea

The SBGS adds that last year , servicemen from the ship and boat personnel of the Maritime Guard units were trained in the management and operation of small patrol boats.
Practical trainings took place in the United States, directly at the Metal Shark shipbuilding company, which specializes in the manufacture of boats with aluminum hulls.

In April , Estonia, in coordination with Denmark, handed over two patrol boats to Ukraine to protect its sea lanes from Russian aggression.
