The Center for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery is a leading highly specialized institution that performs the largest number of surgical and interventional procedures in Ukraine for the most complex congenital heart defects in children — starting from the first days of life.
Every year at the Center for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery: over 40,000 consultations; 3,000 coronarographies for adult patients; 2,000 diagnostic angiographic studies in children with the possibility of simultaneous intervention; 2,000 invasive arrhythmological procedures; 2,500 comprehensive cardiological check-up programs; 2,000 operations in children and 1,500 operations in adults.
The Center for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery is the only institution in Ukraine where neocuspidization of the aortic valve is performed (30 interventions per year), and total prosthetics of the arch and thoracoabdominal aorta have been initiated (5 operations per year). The Center performs LVAD implantation and operates the only 3D-thoracoscopic minimally invasive cardiac surgery department in Ukraine.
The Center thanked the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for its support and emphasized that the continuous operation of the medical facility during the war is possible thanks to the protection and resilience of the state and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
