The third day of the annual Meeting of Heads of Ukraine’s Foreign Diplomatic Missions concluded in Kyiv. During the meeting, diplomats were assigned priorities concerning the mobilization of international financial assistance, support for the energy sector, and preparing the country for winter. Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha emphasized the need to more actively mobilize financial support from partners and ensure adequate resource funding for Ukrainian diplomacy. Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko noted the role of diplomats in consolidating international assistance, while NBU Governor Andrii Pyshnyi highlighted the development of central bank diplomacy.
The meeting also addressed Ukraine’s recovery, attracting foreign investment, developing transport infrastructure, and supporting the agricultural sector. Latvia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Baiba Braže was the event’s guest of honor.
Diplomats urged to step up efforts to support the energy sector
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevhen Perebyinis said that Russia had made Ukraine’s energy infrastructure one of the main targets of its attacks, so embassies should focus on mobilizing international support to get through the heating season.
Representatives of "Naftogaz," "Ukrenergo," "Ukrhydroenergo," "the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine," and "Energoatom" presented diplomats with information on the condition of the energy system, its protection, increasing generation capacity, and the sector’s key needs amid the war. In addition, the meeting’s participants viewed the latest Ukrainian weapons developments at the "Zbroiari" exhibition.
