According to the IDF, Israeli troops entered the Al-Janina area in Rafah, where they destroyed a number of facilities used by Hamas militants.
Simultaneously with the ground operation, the Israeli army and the Israeli Security Agency (Shabak) are carrying out air strikes on the positions of Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants throughout Gaza.
In recent days, weapons depots, missile launchers, military fortifications, as well as auxiliary infrastructure of terrorist groups have been destroyed. Dozens of militants have been eliminated as a result of the strikes, including those who shelled Israeli territory with mortars.
As a reminder, on January 19, Israel announced the beginning of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip at 11:15 local time. This happened after Hamas handed over a list of three female hostages to be released today.
