The American company Taylor Farms has expanded the voluntary recall of iceberg lettuce products supplied to 27 US states due to possible contamination with the Cyclospora parasite. This was reported by the Associated Press, writes UNN.
Details
The potentially dangerous lettuce, grown in central Mexico, was supplied, in particular, to Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and New Jersey. The company stated that it is already removing the products and has stopped purchasing lettuce from the relevant batch.
Earlier, US health authorities determined that the source of the cyclosporiasis outbreak at Taco Bell restaurants in five Midwestern states was lettuce from a Mexican supplier.

The recall includes 25 items of shredded lettuce and salad mixes. Sysco, the largest food distributor in the US, has also suspended their supply and recommended that customers destroy the products.
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2026, at least 1,645 cases of cyclosporiasis have already been confirmed in the country, with 141 people hospitalized. For comparison, during the same period last year, 249 cases of the disease were reported.
