The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the enemy's offensive on Sumy and Kharkiv regions, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi had previously spoken about, "has actually already begun." He announced this in an interview with LB, writes UNN.
Details
"I can say that the President is absolutely right, and this offensive has actually already begun. Because for several days now, almost a week, we have been observing an almost twofold increase in the number of enemy offensive actions in all major directions," Syrskyi said, commenting on President Volodymyr Zelenskyi's statement in an interview with Le Figaro that Russia is preparing for a new offensive in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
In particular, Syrskyi explained that Russia's strategic goals remain unchanged - the enemy seeks to capture as much Ukrainian territory as possible and destroy Ukrainian defense forces.
"He adheres to those goals or tries to fulfill the tasks that were set for him. And they are not going to stop, judging by everything..." added the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
According to him, despite international negotiations, the intensity of hostilities is only increasing.
Reminder
Earlier, UNN wrote that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated that Putin is trying to buy time and is preparing for a spring offensive in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. According to him, the Russian dictator planned to start this operation eight months ago, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine prevented him thanks to intervention in Kursk.
