In Volyn, a resident of Poltava was detained for transmitting train movements to the enemy via a phone camera. The traitor faces life imprisonment for treason.

The military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian intelligence agent in Volyn who was tracking the schedules and routes of Ukrzaliznytsia freight trains and then transmitting the information to the enemy. This was reported by UNN with reference to the SBU.

Details

The Russians intended to use the obtained information to carry out air attacks to disrupt the logistics of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The investigation established that the crime was to be committed by an unemployed resident of Poltava, recruited by the Russians. He came to the enemy's attention when he was looking for "easy money" in Telegram channels.

After recruitment, the agent went on a "business trip" to the Volyn region and settled in a rented apartment near the railway station. On the windowsill of the temporary dwelling, the suspect installed a phone camera with remote broadcasting for Russian special services. In this way, the FSB hoped to calculate the time intervals of the arrival of rolling stock to launch a targeted strike against them.

During a search after the arrest, several smartphones were found and seized from the agent, which he used for contacts with the FSB and video recording of rolling stock. Facts of the agent's reconnaissance activity in the Poltava region, where he tracked the locations of mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces, were also documented.

The detainee was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law). Currently, the offender is in custody - he faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

In the Kyiv region, a 24-year-old man was notified of suspicion of treason for assisting Russian military personnel in connecting satellite communications. According to the investigation, the suspect was looking for additional earnings and through social networks established contact with a Russian military officer who offered him money for verifying a Starlink terminal.
