The Security Service of Ukraine has served a notice of suspicion in absentia to the Russian military personnel who commanded the "Iskander" strike on the Mykolaiv Regional Council in 2022. This was reported by UNN with reference to the SBU press center.

According to the investigation, the planning and preparation of the shelling were carried out by:
- Commander of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Mikhail Zusko;
- Former Acting Commander of the 12th Missile Brigade of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation, Colonel Nikolai Goraichuk.
The Russian occupiers launched a surface-to-surface cruise missile from an "Iskander" operational-tactical missile system. It was launched from occupied Crimea.
As a result of the attack, 36 people were killed, and another 38 sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity. The suspects were notified of suspicion in absentia for committing crimes under Part 2 of Art. 28 and Part 2 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
This refers to violations of the laws and customs of war that caused the death of people, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. The sanction of the articles provides for punishment in the form of 10 to 15 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
