Oleksandr Ruvin, Director of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, showed representatives of the diplomatic missions of five Scandinavian countries foreign components manufactured in their countries and used by Russia in weapons against Ukraine. This will encourage the international community to impose tougher sanctions against Russia. This was stated in an exclusive commentary to UNN by the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise.
The working meeting of the Director of the Institute Oleksandr Ruvin with representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway and Sweden took place at the Institute on November 20. In particular, the Ambassador of Iceland Fredrik Jonsson and the Ambassador of Finland Tarja Fernandez personally visited the Institute.
During the visit, the diplomats were told about research into Russian weapons used against Ukraine, the study of foreign components in drones and missiles, and the analysis of materials such as metals from missile bodies and substances from warheads.
International cooperation is extremely important in times of war. During the meeting, our partners were able to see with their own eyes the components in Russian drones and missiles that were manufactured in their countries and were convinced of the need to strengthen control over this area and increase sanctions pressure on Russia. No type of missile that the Russian military uses against us, the civilian population and infrastructure of Ukraine can do without imported components in navigation units, flight control systems, power supply, etc
He added that KFI openly shares its experience and scientific achievements, as each study is aimed at establishing justice.
“We hope that the work of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise is and will be an even more significant contribution to the investigation of crimes against humanity. We are grateful to our international partners for their support and at the same time call for its strengthening,” emphasized Oleksandr Ruvin.
The KFI added that the working meeting was another step in strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and the Scandinavian countries in the field of expertise and international justice.
