"I believe that democracy always works for regional cooperation, and democracy is a tool for regional peace," Pashinyan told journalists after voting in the June 7 elections, answering a question about how these elections would affect the region.
"I am confident in our peaceful regional future because, fortunately, we have peace with Azerbaijan. We have very deep relations with Georgia. I look forward to the establishment of diplomatic relations with Turkey. I am confident that in the near future, rail and road links with Turkey will also open," noted the head of the Armenian government.
Pashinyan added that the tension in Armenian-Russian relations is artificial.
"Relations with the Russian Federation have an institutional basis and are grounded in mutual respect. Some forces operating in Armenia are trying to create tension in Armenian-Russian relations. This tension does not arise for the simple reason that the President of the Russian Federation and I have very close relations," the Armenian Prime Minister emphasized.
