It is noted that Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz strongly condemned the ongoing systematic and brutal destruction of civilian Ukrainian energy infrastructure as a result of Russian attacks.
President Zelenskyy thanked for the winter aid package from the German Federal Government. It includes, in particular, further support for Ukrainian air defense, as well as the supply of block-modular thermal power plants and generators. This helps the Ukrainian civilian population survive brutal Russian attacks.
Both sides welcomed efforts to establish a ceasefire. The Federal Chancellor reaffirmed Germany's support for a just and lasting peace for Ukraine. On this issue, they maintain the closest contact.
