Lithuania to ban entry to the Schengen Area for another 600 Russians who fought against Ukraine

The Lithuanian Migration Department will ban entry to 600 Russians who fought against Ukraine. The restrictions will be in effect for 10 years for Lithuania and 5 years for the Schengen Area.

Lithuania will ban entry to its territory and the Schengen Area for another 600 Russian citizens who participated in the war against Ukraine. This was reported by  LRT, according to UNN.

Details

The Lithuanian Migration Department announced that it has identified nearly 600 such Russian military personnel. Consequently, they have been banned from entering Lithuania for 10 years and the Schengen Area for 5 years. At the same time, these terms may be extended.

It is planned to quickly include all these individuals in the list of persona non grata on the territory of Lithuania and in the Schengen Area information system with an entry ban

Addendum

Back in March, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that 268 Russian citizens who directly participated in hostilities against Ukraine were being added to the list. The total number of sanctioned individuals now stands at nearly 900.

According to current rules in Lithuania, applications for both national and Schengen visas from citizens of Russia and Belarus are no longer accepted, except in cases where the application is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.
