It is "imperative" Ukraine gets more resources immediately to help it fight off Russia's invasion, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said after the Group of Seven (G7) meeting, UNN reports citing Sky News.
"It needs more air defense, more ammunition, more artillery - allies and partners, including the G7 countries, are committed to achieving that," Blinken said.
The secretary of state further stated that if China wants to improve relations with Europe, it cannot continue to help Russia while it attacks Ukraine, adding that Beijing is "the main supplier of Russia's defense industrial base," the newspaper writes.

Meanwhile, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani is quoted as saying that the G7 wants to see if it can use frozen Russian assets held in the West, not just the interest on them.
Tayani said that there is an established legal basis for using the interest from the frozen funds, but that experts are now studying whether the capital itself can be used to help Ukraine.
