The escalation occurred amid the U.S. launch of the so-called "Project Freedom," aimed at restoring shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. However, according to industry experts, the situation remains dangerous, and most vessels are avoiding transit through the region.

The strait is still incredibly dangerous, and I expect most vessels will continue to avoid transit

– stated Tim Huxley, Chairman of Mandarin Shipping.

Fujairah is of strategic importance as one of the few oil export routes that allows bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. The current strikes represent the largest escalation since the announcement of a truce between the U.S. and Iran four weeks ago.

Amid the escalation, oil prices continue to rise, and in the U.S., gasoline costs have already reached their highest level in nearly four years.
