Consumer inflation in Ukraine accelerated to 7.9% in March year-on-year from 7.6% in February, according to State Statistics Service data, writes UNN.

Consumer market inflation in March 2026 compared to February was 1.7%.
Core inflation in March of this year compared to February was 1.5%, and compared to March 2025 – 7.1%.
Food and goods prices
In the consumer market in March, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 1.3%, and by 9.5% year-on-year.
Eggs rose the most in price over the month (by 7.7%). Prices for processed grain products, sunflower oil, fruits, bread, fish and fish products, beef, vegetables, non-alcoholic beverages, and lard increased by 4.8-0.8%. At the same time, prices for sugar, pasta, rice, pork, poultry, and butter decreased by 1.0-0.1%.
Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 1.1% in March, which is due to a 1.3% increase in tobacco product prices.
Clothing and footwear increased in price by 12.0% over the month, including clothing by 12.0% and footwear by 11.8%.
Cost of services
Utility prices (housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels) increased by 0.2% over the month, and by 1.7% year-on-year.
Transport prices increased by 6.4% in March, mainly due to a 13.2% increase in fuel and lubricants and an 8.2% and 6.0% increase in railway and road passenger transport fares, respectively. The year-on-year increase was 13.4%.
In the communications sector, prices increased by 2.5% over the month, mainly due to a 3.8% increase in mobile communication tariffs. A 14.9% increase year-on-year.
Education services increased in price by 0.1% over the month, and by 14.4% over the year.
Prices in the healthcare sector increased by 0.5% over the month, and by 2% over the year.
The data is provided without taking into account the territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation and parts of the territories where hostilities are (were) taking place.
