In Zakarpattia, a fake ambulance transporting men to the border was intercepted. The organizers of the scheme were to receive 15,000 dollars for such a trip.

In Zakarpattia, at the "Nyzhni Vorota" checkpoint, officers of the main operational-search department and servicemen of the Mukachevo border detachment, together with police officers, exposed an attempt to smuggle conscription-aged men across the border. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, according to UNN.

Details

During the inspection of an ambulance traveling with flashing lights on, border guards discovered three men inside: the driver, a 48-year-old resident of the Kherson region, and two passengers, residents of the Kyiv region, aged 28 and 25. None of the men are medical professionals.

Operatives of the Mukachevo detachment established that the driver was supposed to deliver the Kyiv residents to the border area for 24,000 hryvnias, where they subsequently intended to cross the border illegally. In total, the offenders were supposed to pay the smugglers 15,000 US dollars for such a "trip."

A notification regarding the detection of signs of a criminal offense under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was sent to Police Department No. 2 of the Mukachevo District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zakarpattia region.

The ambulance driver was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Currently, operatives of the Mukachevo detachment are identifying all persons involved in the illegal scheme.
