The IAEA has sent another mission to Ukraine to assess the condition of electrical substations that ensure the stable operation of nuclear power plants. This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, according to UNN.
Details
The IAEA has sent another mission to assess the condition of Ukraine's electrical substations that ensure the stable operation of NPPs. This is already the seventh such mission; the previous one took place earlier this year
The team will visit 14 electrical substations. Such assessments allow for strengthening the resilience of the energy system and increasing the level of nuclear safety.
In winter, Russia attempted to destroy these substations, which threatened the stable operation of NPPs and the nuclear safety of Europe. We are grateful to the IAEA and personally to Director General Rafael Grossi for consistent efforts aimed at strengthening safety and responding to risks. We especially thank the IAEA missions for their systematic work in Ukraine and constant presence at key facilities
Recall
Energoatom completed the scheduled maintenance of a power unit at the Khmelnytskyi NPP ahead of schedule. The unit has already been connected to Ukraine's general power grid.
