What is cache in Viber and why clear it?
Cache files are messages that can be re-downloaded even after they are deleted, for example, in communities and channels. The cache consists of temporary files that do not contain your messages or media files, but take up a significant amount of device memory.
How to clear cache in Viber on Android
To clear the cache on a smartphone with the Android operating system, you need to:
- open the application;
- in the lower right corner of the application's taskbar, find the icon with three horizontally arranged dots. Above them is the inscription “More”;
- go to "Settings" - "Data storage and cache";
- delete unnecessary files.
The operation does not affect saved chats or contacts. Users are advised to additionally save important photos directly to the device.
How to clear cache in Viber on iPhone
To clear the cache on a smartphone with the iOS operating system, you need to:
- open the application;

How to clear Viber of junk: photos, videos and messages
Messenger media files take up a lot of space in the phone's data storage. To maximize memory freeing, videos and photos are deleted first. To do this, go to the "Memory Management" section, click on the "More" button, and then "Memory".
In memory management, a list of all chats will be displayed, and how much memory they occupy. If you click on one of the contacts, voluminous files from Viber Videos will first expand, and at the end of the list, lighter files - Images.
To delete photos and videos on Android, click on the multimedia files. Checkmarks will appear on the image, and at the bottom of the smartphone screen - a command line with a trash can symbol. Before clearing Viber on Android, select the unnecessary videos you want to delete.
To delete photos and videos on iPhone, find the "Select" command at the top of the display. With one tap, select the files you want to delete. Click on the trash can symbol.
Note that a media file downloaded to the image and video gallery will remain in the phone's memory. You can also delete all multimedia documents of the messenger in the smartphone's gallery. Photos and videos are stored in folders with the same name.
