"The Ukrainians are defending their country very, very successfully and, in some aspects, reclaiming territories. Currently, the momentum is on the side of the Ukrainians. We must not hesitate for a second in our support for Ukraine," Pistorius stated upon arrival in Brussels for the meeting of NATO defense ministers.
Germany, according to him, will contribute to the financing of further American weapons systems and ammunition for Ukraine. NATO countries are financing American weaponry within the framework of the PURL program.
"We will contribute $200 million for urgently needed ammunition for air defense systems," Pistorius said, adding that "Germany will contribute another $200 million for the purchase of additional guided missiles for the Patriot system."
