As of 10:00 PM on December 16, the situation at the front remains tense. Russian troops continue massive assaults, focusing their main efforts on the Pokrovsk and Kupyansk directions. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, writes UNN.

During the day, the enemy actively used aviation and drones, launching 55 airstrikes (127 KABs) and employing almost 2000 kamikaze drones. AFU positions and settlements along the entire front line came under heavy artillery fire.
Key directions of battles
Pokrovsk direction: remains the hottest spot. The occupiers carried out 60 attacks. The Defense Forces inflicted significant losses on the enemy: 220 invaders were neutralized, 3 tanks, 12 units of automotive equipment, and 4 armored vehicles were destroyed.

Kupyansk and Lyman directions: the enemy conducted over 50 assault operations. The main strikes fell on the areas of Torske, Kupyansk, and surrounding settlements. Battles in these areas continue.
Huliaipole and Oleksandrivka directions: high enemy activity was recorded – a total of 48 combat engagements. The enemy actively used aerial bombs against civilian infrastructure.
Despite constant pressure, Ukrainian defenders are holding their lines, inflicting maximum losses on the occupiers in manpower and equipment. No significant changes in the operational situation have been recorded in other sectors of the front.
