There is no consensus among European leaders regarding the decision to deploy peacekeepers to Ukraine after the "coalition of the willing" meeting in Paris. This was reported by The New York Times, according to UNN.

Details

Only the leaders of France and Britain insist on deploying their own troops without participating in a multinational mission. In contrast, Italy is ready to send its contingent as part of a United Nations mission, and Poland has stated that it will not send its troops to Ukraine.

According to Emmanuel Macron, the "coalition of the willing" will continue to support Ukraine in the war with the Russian occupiers. However, the outlines of the future peacekeeping forces "will still be clarified," the French President emphasized.

We need to accelerate negotiations to achieve a ceasefire. We also need to accelerate our ability to finance and supply weapons, prepare plans for the Ukrainian army and peacekeeping forces.

- Macron said following the meeting.

He added that no troops from European countries will be directly on the line of contact: their task is to train Ukrainians. According to Macron, the task of monitoring and ensuring a ceasefire can be assigned to UN peacekeepers or other observers.
