44.2% of Moldovan residents believe that the Transnistrian conflict should be resolved through the full reintegration of the region. This is evidenced by the results of a new survey by the sociological company iData, UNN reports.

According to the study, another 17.9% of respondents favor maintaining the current status quo, 12.4% support granting Transnistria special autonomy within Moldova, and 8.4% support the "independence of Transnistria." At the same time, 15.5% of respondents were unable to decide on an answer.
The majority of survey participants also supported a series of steps related to the reintegration of the region. In particular, 83% spoke in favor of education in the Romanian language, 76% for the withdrawal of foreign troops and weapons, as well as for equal access to public services. Another 75% support the introduction of unified tax rules, and 74% support the introduction of the Moldovan leu in the region.
In addition, 72% of respondents favored the integration of Transnistrian institutions into the Moldovan system, and 71% supported the creation of a special infrastructure fund for the region.
The survey was conducted from May 14 to 24, 2024, among 992 respondents in 312 settlements in Moldova. The maximum sampling error is ±3.1%.
