On the night of May 24, Russian troops launched a massive strike on Kyiv using missiles and attack drones. Numerous hits on residential buildings, warehouses, and civilian infrastructure were recorded in the capital. According to city authorities, as of 03:05, at least five people were injured in the capital. One victim was hospitalized, while medics provided assistance to four others on the spot.
In the Desnianskyi district, a drone hit a supermarket building. In the Obolonskyi district, a drone struck a 16-story residential building at the level of the 12th-13th floors, causing a fire.
Also in the district, a private single-story house caught fire, and another UAV fell near a residential building, after which the fire spread to the structure.

In the Dniprovskyi district, a drone strike was recorded on a private house, a warehouse, and the territory of a garage cooperative. The strikes resulted in fires. In the Darnytskyi district, hits were reported on non-residential development sites and a warehouse.
At around 03:51, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported a hit on a 20-story residential building in the Pecherskyi district at the level of the 13th floor.
At the same time, he warned that missiles continued to approach the city and urged residents to remain in shelters.
